Description Jeffrey Abrams is recruiting for an exciting venture fund and incubator firm in San Francisco! Founded over 10 years ago, they blend innovative ideas with business discipline, supporting their entrepreneurs with best in class operating, scaling, operating and financing infrastructure to launch to success. The Accounting team does the accounting for the Fund, the Operating Company AND for the startups that they incubate!
This Senior Accountant role does the accounting for the startups. They have about 10-15 active startups right now. Some are very early and some bigger. Some are in the sunset phase. They'll be adding 4-10 more by summer.
We want a multi-tasker, able to prioritize, a proactive learner, and able to research an issue.
You get some equity in all the companies they incubate. You'll part of the initial equity run.
Job detailsOwnership of the accounting function (including month-end close, financial statement preparation, AP/AR, tax filings and other activities).
Understand the underlying transactions of the business and help stakeholders with the decision making.
Plan, develop and implement effective accounting strategies, policies and procedures in accordance with evolving regulations, legal and governmental requirements and industry trends which may impact portfolio companies.
Partner closely with FP& A, Controller, and other stakeholders on ad-hoc projects.
Requirements
3+ years of combined experience in operational and technical accounting
At least 1 year of Senior Accountant related experience
Proficiency with NetSuite, QBO, Expensify, Bill.com, and Excel (intermediate to advanced)
Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment.
