In addition, employees are also entitled to participate in an employer sponsored 401(k) plan, to save for retirement.  Pay and benefits for employees represented by a union are outlined in their collective bargaining agreement.POSITION PURPOSE: Associate Project Engineer - Commissioning with Mechanical Concentration, must be a self-motivated, energetic professional and versed in projects touching on building MEP systems design, commissioning, retro-commissioning, and construction of critical systems ranging in size and complexity. The ideal candidate shall possess theoretical and practical knowledge in the testing and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and related controls. Candidate will be responsible for executing daily tasks, maintaining project schedules and assisting Project Engineers. This Client-Facing role requires technical competency, organizational skill set, and reports directly to the Project Engineer.PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Commission mechanical systems, associated equipment and related controls in a variety of environments, including:Mission critical facilities (e.g. data centers). Central boiler and chiller plants.Small power generation and cogeneration stations (up to 100 MW).Conduct Level 1 – 5 commissioning activities in accordance with client requirements. Assist the Lead Mechanical Engineer in performing functional performance testing of mechanical equipment and measure results using test instrumentation. Perform QAQC inspections under guidance of Lead Mechanical Engineer.Identify and assemble relevant documentation, drawings, and data.Monitor mechanical system performance and suggest improvements where needed.Assist in developing building-specific commissioning plans.Develop functional performance procedures and QAQC forms under guidance of Senior Mechanical Engineer.Attending factory witness tests and provide detailed report identifying deficiencies.Submit and maintain daily commissioning reports as required.Respond to customer inquiries in a manner that exceeds the customer’s expectations.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and complete all safety-related training courses.Learn and grow knowledge regarding the commissioning process in a mission critical environment. Read and increase understanding of engineering drawings, sequence of operations etc. Increase knowledge with common mechanical, and controls-related building equipment, including:Fuel Systems. Backup generators.Reciprocating engines.Chillers (i.e. electric, air-cooled, multi-stage).Boilers (steam and hot water).Pumps. Roof top units.Air handling units.Computer room air conditioning units.Computer room air handlers o Cooling towers o VESDA o Fire Protection.Building management systemsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT     Travel nationwide 50% - 75% if not assigned locally. May require International travel up to 20% based on project requirements.
