RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in San Jose, CA that has an amazing opportunity for a Cloud Engineer.
Overview:
The Cloud Engineer will be part of a team who will design, code, test and deploy enterprise level cloud infrastructure services and nodes used to support the development and operations of our clients cutting edge collaboration tool micro-services. This is an amazing opportunity to do this type of work at scale, and not many people get this opportunity in a large or small technology organization. This is mission critical work where you will get the opportunity to work with cutting edge technology in support of a cutting-edge technology product used by millions. For example, all Federal industries (education, commercial, federal, healthcare) will be leveraging this technology as well as the infrastructure and clusters you will be responsible for! As an example, the US Supreme Court justice confirmation hearings took place on this platform. The G8 conference with all world leaders were all on was on this platform.
Day to day:
Automating infrastructure
Building out and enhancing services
Maintaining and enhancing
Supporting customers with issues
Keeping an eye on usage, capacity, how much we are spending
Efficiency engineering (example - help provide efficiency within the database to help reduce cost given the amount of data)
Communicate results with daily check-ins
Project:
Automation and configuration - ansible and terraform
Terraform for standing up infrastructure
Ansible for configuring
Write scripts in Ansible with Python - Go - Jenkins - Groovy
Linux
Basic networking
Good written/communication
REQUIREMENTS:
General networking experience
Familiarity building out infrastructure using automation
Troubleshooting experience
This candidate will need an understanding of DevOps and Infrastructure Automation
IaaS: Experience with Infrastructure orchestration as code (IaaS) such as Terraform in AWS environment
Ansible: Must have previous experience developing or implementing configuration management with Ansible
Automation: Implement automation to perform the day-to-day systems operations functions of the cloud collaboration platform using open source configuration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CICD tools such Jenkins and GitHub
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the cloud collaboration platform; Implement long term fixes and automation to avoid repeat failures in the future
