Job Title: Growth Advertising Data Scientist
This is a unique opportunity to change the way Client uses through paid marketing channels to acquire new customers with long term value.
We are looking for a data scientist with strengths in using machine learning models for real business applications, with strong analytics and scripting skills to help revolutionize our performance marketing efforts through paid media. The role will focus on delivering analysis and modeling to inform inventory, audience, and bidding techniques. Operating with a fast test and learn mentality, the role will be fully integrated into the operating team and will drive changes directly to marketing activity.
The perfect candidate will have experience of working with e-commerce, inventory/catalogs, or digital marketing applications for data science and analytics. Though this role works directly with marketers, it sits within a Product organization and will have close ties to our data science and customer science organizations.
Work closely with the Social team to identify insights and modeling opportunities
Build various models to optimize performance of the channel, including:
Inventory selections and structure of feeds
Audience approaches (focus will be primarily on acquisition of new customers)
Liaise with analysts and data scientists in wider org and utilize approaches for the channel
Experience with SQL, Python and/or R
In-depth knowledge of machine learning techniques and statistical modelling
Experience of deploying techniques into real world applications; translate data and results into learnings and action. Be able to translate business requirements and problems into technical solutions, and explain scientific and technical solutions to business teams.
Independent, self-starter approach to work - though it helps to be familiar with Agile and Scrum methods, the candidate should demonstrate the ability to set their own goals and timelines and hold themselves accountable for achieving them
Experience of working with large datasets
Fast learner, and adaptable
BS degree in a technical discipline required. The ideal candidate will possess 2+ years of experience working in digital marketing, e-commerce, or SAAS.
