The Finance Team at Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) provides employees, stakeholders, and customers with timely and accurate financial information. The Finance Department is comprised of six teams: accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), billing, collections, payroll and tax that work closely together to ensure compliance and the financial well-being of the company.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Director of Finance, reporting to the CFO, provides planning and analysis activities required for corporate level decision-making for all of the company’s operations. This individual is responsible for budgeting, planning, forecasting, financial analyses & financial performance reporting, business plan evaluation and ad-hoc requirements of top-level executives.This is a “hands-on” position. The Director of Finance will have two direct reports and the opportunity to add professional staff as the Company scales. The successful candidate will be well-rounded with the ability to work closely with all departments and functions.
Delivery of timely, accurate, and appropriate financial reporting to external and internal business partners, including GAAP and Non-GAAP operating results, cash forecasting, project performance metrics, and working capital metrics.
Leadership and development of financial budget and forecast processes; coordination with division and department managers to implement new processes and applications as required. Consolidation and analysis of annual budget and long-range financial plans. Coordination across divisions and corporate functions to ensure deadlines are met.
Development of in-depth financial analysis for trends in revenues, margins, SG&A costs, and profitability across the company, including results of operations against budget and forecast. Development and implementation of management dashboards delivering pertinent, concise, and actionable information. Prompt, clear, and concise analysis in response to ad-hoc requests.
Development and implementation of FP&A processes and systems to support requirements of corporate, business units, and functions.
Leadership for the long-term development of a world class FP&A function including recruitment and development of personnel to support the Company’s strategic plans for growth.
Accurate and timely output. Demonstration of a deep understanding of the Company’s business, including key business drivers of operating results and risks and opportunities in its competitive environment.
Close coordination with corporate accounting teams and division and functional heads in preparation for management presentations.
Creation and maintenance of strong relationships across functions within the company and maintenance of an open flow of communication that builds a deep knowledge of current events in the business.
Demonstration of clear and well thought out concepts in formal presentations, team discussions, and written analyses.
Scope: Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations effective achievement of objectives.Complexity: Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company. Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.Discretion: Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional, division, or company operations.Interaction: Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.Supervision: Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area through several department managers within the company. Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods.ABOUT YOU
Strong understanding of GAAP, external financial reporting requirements, consolidations and eliminations (divisions), and well versed in current accounting issues/trends that may impact operating results.
Strong understanding of typical business models, risks, revenue recognition requirements and planning issues.
Working knowledge of IT systems design and implementation, data structures and available reporting tools.
Advanced Excel and Power Point skills (financial - operational model building, design and creation of robust interactive reporting and analysis tools).
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Ready to step-in and take ownership in a fast paced, results-oriented environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAny combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.Education: BS or BA degree in finance or accounting.
