Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is actively seeking an early career Environmental Planner to join our Environmental Planning & Permitting Group in our San Jose, California office to support some of California's most important projects. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our group of more than 100 environmental professionals in the Bay Area. This position would join a core AECOM team supporting environmental review and clearance of projects for a key utility client.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Coordinate with a multi-disciplinary team to gather necessary technical information to assess project permitting needs, assign environmental measures and requirements, and prepare required environmental clearance documentation.

Support the preparation of environmental documents such as permit application packages and technical reports.

Maintain knowledge of and apply applicable government codes, ordinances, and regulations.

Attend and lead meetings with AECOM and client team members and attend meetings with agency personnel as needed. Assist in preparing meeting materials and compiling meeting results, including PowerPoint presentations, and other materials.

Occasional field meetings may be required.

Participation as an active and positive member of AECOM’s Environmental Planning & Permitting Group in the SF Bay Area.

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.

As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior consulting experience.

Familiarity with CEQA, NEPA, and state and federal regulatory and compliance guidelines.

Familiarity with issues related to environmental planning.

Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Adobe Portable Document Format application programs.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Ability to create and maintain tracking spreadsheets and documents.

Highly organized with a strong detail-oriented work style.

Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, identifying what needs to be accomplished and regularly completing tasks.

Additional Information

Relocation assistance and/or per diem is not available for this position.

We are interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States. Permanent residency sponsorship is available for current H1-B visa holders in the United States.

This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in San Jose, California . The selected candidate must be available to work in San Jose, California on a scheduled basis.

Minimal travel (occasional site visits) may be required.

Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $66,000.00 - $78,000.00 /yr.
