Job Title: Lab Engineer
Location: San Jose, CA

Job Description:
We are looking for an Engineering Lab Lead who is very strong in Networking Technologies, Cisco Products, Tools, Topologies related to Data Centers and Enterprise network connectivity. The ideal candidate should be highly hands on and manage lab day-to-day operations.
In this role you will build out Proof of Concept (PoC) testbeds that validate the OCA Teams architectural frameworks for Cisco's Multi-domain Policy architecture. You will work alongside with the projects Technical Leaders, Technology Partners and Cisco Customers and deliver timely results and provide technical feedback.
Additional responsibilities include conducting technical evaluations of hardware and software, deploying code, troubleshooting and fixing issues. Maintain Lab Network infrastructure and Cisco UCS Servers which includes Upgrading, Backing-up and Restoring VMWare ESX services and virtual sessions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Build. Configure and troubleshoot complex test topologies based on technical discussions and whiteboarding sessions with the team.
Contribute to PoC testing based on sound test methodologies and use cases.
Communicate findings to engineers and author POC methodologies and document results and contribute to functional spec's based on OCA project work
Own day-to-day Lab operations and ensure that devices, servers, Software components are up & running at their best possible capacity and ensure that resources like rack/shelf space, power etc. are optimally utilized
Make sure lab complies with all InfoSec related security policies.
Lead migration of the DMZ Lab into a new IT Lab architecture were Firepower firewalls are incorporated.

Hard skills:
Must have the following experience to be considered:
SME in at least one network domain: Campus, Data Center, Enterprise Edge / SD-WAN
3-5 years experience supporting all aspects of large Enterprise Networks with 2 Years operational experience in the relevant technologies.
Build complex lab testbeds for Architecture team to conduct PoC's and "Experience using traffic generator and tools to monitor network performance"
2-3 years hands-on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
2-3 hands-on experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting Nexus 9K
1-2 hands-on experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting Catalyst 9K
1-2 hands-on experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting network overlay technologies (VXLAN, SDA)
Experience with the installation and deploying Orchestration technologies ACI and / or DNA
Technologies like Ansible, Terraform, Salt, Chef, Puppet
Experience with virtualization technologies like Xen Hypervisor, Hyper-V, Docker
Good understanding of TCP/IP, Routing, and Switching fundamentals.
Support experience in technologies like firewalls, IPsec, VPN, AAA, ISE, IPSec, GRE.
Experience with open-source technologies and services
Experience with Linux-based infrastructures, Linux/Unix administration.
Soft skills:
Independently solve complex product and network problems with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressured, multi-functional environment.
Demonstrate high-level of maturity and confidentiality.
Attention to detail
Possess good communications skills and interpersonal skills.
