Role: Network Manager Location: San Jose, CA (will need to be on site) Duration: 6 month contract to hire Job Description:
Responsible for managing the Infrastructure team of system and network administrators to maintain continuous highly secure Bank operations, fix what's broken, minimize disruptions, secure email and data, and plan and deliver projects for new and replacement technologies. This person will both manage the Infrastructure team and be the mid- to senior-level directly-hands-on network administrator. Information Security operations as directed by the Chief Information Security Officer are a critical part of this role.
Must be an experienced team lead, people manager, and vendor manager who can also directly configure routers and firewalls. Maintain network and systems, remote access, disaster recovery plans and technologies, email systems, storage, Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure, system management utilities, outside security vendors, Internet, web hosting, domain services, and data center providers, change management, and other processes. Monthly metrics and reporting and strong communications with high-level staff around the bank are critical to this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, and other duties may be assigned:
Information security and protection of company data is critical and fundamental to this position. Complying with Banking laws and regulations, participating in audits and regulatory exams, planning audit responses and remediation, and deliver those remediations with the team and IT department.
Directly configure switches, routers, firewalls, and remote access devices
Manage Infrastructure team within Information Technology department with system and network administrators.
Manage outside vendors and service providers, manage all renewals, quotes and contracts, and system resellers.
Hire and manage contractors, as necessary.
Manage and report on department budget.
Plan and deliver long-term vision and strategy for bank infrastructure.
Evening and weekend work will be required regularly and frequently.
Process improvement, including teaching and documentation, to minimize system disruptions. Troubleshooting and fixing those that arise.
Manage replacements of current technologies, as well as review, selection, and deployment of new technologies.
Project management for various Bank technology initiatives.
Work with CIO and all other Information Technology department head colleagues as part of a collaborative IT senior staff.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with all aspects of job related laws and regulations. Must keep compliance knowledge current and assure that all Bank systems meet compliance, privacy, and information security requirements.
This person will manage a team in Information Technology and other employees or contract personnel as directed.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 10 years' experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Financial industry experience strongly preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Should be intimately familiar with local and cloud data center, facilities, network, and system operations. Three years of experience administering a Microsoft Windows Server-based network is required, as is a solid understanding of TCP/IP protocols. Must completely understand concepts of Directory Services as well as Microsoft Azure AD synchronization, and must have experience using the various utilities for managing and monitoring system and network performance. Must have a thorough understanding of backup, recovery, and Disaster Recovery strategies and experience maintaining such plans. Hands on experience maintaining Cisco routers and switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and recent versions of the Microsoft Windows Server operating systems is preferred. Must understand binary addition and subnet masking. Significant network administration experience required.
