Experience what’s next at Avnet!Job Summary:Responsible for team providing customers and sales department staff with product, technical, and engineering support for assigned supplier or region. Manages timely dissemination of technical information to the team via in person or on-line training. Sets strategy for global technical support for the supplier or region. Manages a team of field application engineers.Principal Responsibilities:

Manages the technical team and utilization of resources.

Reviews and provides progress updates with management.

Identifies, evaluates, and implements new service approaches and concepts to exceed customer expectations, improve service levels, and streamline workflows.

Ensures timely, accurate, and efficient engineering support to customers.

Assigns responsibilities and establishes and maintains communications between sales, marketing, and other staff.

Establishes and maintains positive relationships with customers, manufacturers’ representatives, and suppliers.

Brings together and deploys the individuals, processes and resources to meet supplier needs.

Encourages and supports staff training efforts to ensure currency of knowledge for successful product development.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Level Specifications:

Manages experienced, professional employees and/or supervisors; and/or manages large, complex technical and/or business support teams. Accountable for the performance and results of a team and/or department.

Interprets and administers policies, processes and procedures that affect direct reports and the workflow of the team/department. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Contributes to budget development and performance standards of department and direct reports.

Assignments are defined in the form of objectives. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, business plans and independent judgment.

Collaborates with team(s), customers/ clients, functional peer group managers and occasionally senior management. Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives.

Decisions may have impact on work processes and outcomes. Erroneous decisions or recommendations may result in serious delays and considerable expenditures of additional time, people and/or financial resources.

Work Experience:

Typically 6+ years including 2+ years of supervisory experience

Education and Certification(s):

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

Proven track record of implementing and realizing results from transformation and/or strategic initiatives enterprise-wide and globally. Strong ability to influence senior executives and connect with teams to deliver change/results. Deep analytical skills coupled with strong interpersonal/influencing capabilities. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

$190,000 - $215,000 total compensation range
