We are a local construction company in Santa Barbara and are looking for a an accounting/certified payroll professional to help us run our office. We are currently accepting applications from qualified individuals who will be responsible for completing Accounts Payable, Certified Payroll, LCP Tracker, DAS Apprenticeship requirements, Fringe Benefits and Payroll Processing. Position reports to HR Director and includes compliance with all local, state, and federal labor laws.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out a full-cycle A/P
- Provide support to internal business partners
- Facilitate internal and external audits as needed
- Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents
-Proactively manage all Public Works projects.
-Complete DAS 140 & 142 forms; Certified Payroll Reports, LCP Tracker, Fringe Benefit Statement; Wage Determination Updates.
-Verify that appropriate wages are being paid on certified payroll against - CA prevailing wage labor-wage determinations and/or Federal Davis Bacon wage rates.
-Reviewing fringe benefits statements, DAS 140s - DAS142s, CAC2s (training fund contributions)
-Forward labor documents as needed per individual job requirements.
Qualifications:
- Proficient with Quickbooks Online, spreadsheets and databases
- Prior experience in an A/P & certified payroll role required
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar is required
- High attention to detail
-3-5 years of construction experience relating to compliance
-Experience with subcontractor labor compliance / certified payroll
-Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under a high-volume workload
-Urgency to complete tasks so projects can keep momentum
-Ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects throughout the day with changing priorities
-Shows desire to do what is right to limit risk for the company
-Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook
