Santa Barbara Distribution Company is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to oversee the daily management of the accounting team, ensuring work processes, and skilled accounting professionals. Success in this role could progress to an Assistant Controller position within two years, dependent on skill and performance.

Responsibilities:
Lead the development and management of a skilled Finance and Accounting team.
Oversee, train, and assess 3 Staff Accountants and 4 Account Payable clerks, including daily management tasks.
Provide support and coverage in the accounts payable, and general accounting areas as needed.
Develop and apply financial policies, procedures, and priorities for effective financial management.
Experience and skilled in balance sheets, profit and loss reconciliation, reviewing staff accounts work.
Review business license, property tax and sales tax returns.
Review and post journal entries daily.
Prepare a daily cash report for company CEO and CFO.
Ensure timely performance of tasks during period closings, including revenue and linen reconciliations.
Prepare monthly board reports, audit schedules, and annual financial statements, covering all key financial documentation.
Manage the preparation and submission of unclaimed property reports for payroll and accounts payable.
Review vendor statements, process invoices, and credit memos, including those for EDI vendors.
Review weekly check run proposals.
Prepare preliminary and final bad debt adjustments for each period.
Process accrued monthly customer rebates with assistance from the accounts receivable department.
Monitor and manage Commercial Card Administrator duties.
Monitor, record and track rents payable and receivable.
Process company-wide utility invoices.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years of experience leading an accounting team
Advanced proficiency in Excel
