Organization:SC - Sansum ClinicPosition Overview:The echocardiography (Echo) Technologist performs and processes echocardiograms upon request of the physician; sets up and operates various test and diagnostic procedures according to physicians orders and hospital/department policies and procedures. Tests and procedures are based on scope of practice and include but are not limited to the following: 12 lead EKG, rhythm strips, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, cardiac stress monitoring and transient arrhythmia monitoring. Must also maintain department equipment, provide routine preventative maintenance, adhere to infection control procedures, as well as perform departmental clerical work; distribute and maintain records, and monitor supplies. Responsible for transportation of patients to and from testing.Job Description :EDUCATION

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

Formal training and completion of an AMA approved Echocardiography course.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

ARDMS-American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer preferred

RCS-Registered Cardiac Sonographer preferred

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

Previous experience as an Echo Tech in an acute care facility preferred.
