Actalent is looking for a full time phlebotomist to work in Santa Barbara, making $28/hr. Hours are Monday-Friday 8-5pm, and open to entry level!Description:Collecting blood samples from patients in outpatient settings, ensuring accuracy, safety, and patient comfort throughout the phlebotomy process This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, interact with diverse patients, and play a vital role in providing high-quality laboratory services Blood Collection: Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood samples from patients of all ages in outpatient settings, including clinics, medical offices, and diagnostic centers Ensure adherence to standard phlebotomy procedures and safety protocols Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, explain the phlebotomy procedure, and address any concerns or questions they may have Provide reassurance and support to anxious or apprehensive patients to help alleviate their fears and discomfort Specimen Handling: Label blood collection tubes accurately, properly identify patients, and ensure that specimens are collected and handled according to laboratory guidelines Maintain specimen integrity and proper storage conditions to prevent contamination or deterioration Documentation: Complete requisition forms, enter patient information into electronic health records (EHR), and document phlebotomy procedures accurately and legibly
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus!
