Experienced Chef Wanted:
Upscale Coastal Restaurant in the heart of the Montecito is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our talented culinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to step into an innovative established restaurant but also work with the owner to put your own stamp on the business.
Responsibilities:
- All kitchen operations, including menu planning, recipe development, food preparation, and quality control
- Lead the kitchen staff, ensuring smooth and efficient service
- Train, schedule, and oversee the performance of sous chefs and line cooks and other kitchen personnel
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment that adheres to all health and safety standards
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests
Requirements:
- 3+ years experience as the lead chef / executive chef or similar leadership role in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment
- Formal culinary training and/or certification, such as a degree from a reputable culinary institute is a plus
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and inventory management
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Passion for seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients and creating visually stunning, delicious dishes
