Metropulos Fine Foods Merchant is seeking a daytime prep cook to assist our chef in the kitchen.
We are seeking an applicant with a strong understanding of a professional kitchen and proven ability to multi-task within a team as well as work well solo. You will assist the chef in preparing daily soups, salads, light breakfasts to order, and cover the kitchen EVERY Saturday. You need to have excellent knife skills, apply basic cooking techniques, and be able to take instruction and accurately interpret recipes. You will assist with lunch service preparation, as well as work with the team in constant prepping and cleaning of the entire food prep area. Serve-Save Certification required within 30 days of hire.
Work hours:
Some flexibility, based on your availability, but generally 4-5 week days and every Saturday are required. Let's chat!
Pretty good English and a sunny disposition are required, as we have an open kitchen and all team members have a lot of customer interaction. The work atmosphere is fun, but hard work is required.
