JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Boathouse at Hendry's Beach is looking for a seasoned bartender (at least 2 years experience) to join our awesome team! We are a high paced fine dining establishment with amazing craft cocktails and delicious cuisine, open from 7:30am - 9:00pm. This position will be trained for both opening and closing shifts and will be an integral part of our team of bartenders on the weekends. JOB KNOWLEDGE, CORE COMPETENCIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
- At least 2+ years experience in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
- Weekday, weekend, and holiday availability. We are closed Christmas and Thanksgiving Day.
- Open availability is a must as well as a willingness to work late in the evenings.
- Prepare, pour and serve alcoholic craft cocktails as well as non-alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages according to Boathouse standardized recipes.
- Competency in daily bar practices to keep a clean bar running smoothly in a fast paced environment.
- Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere for all who visit the Boathouse.
- Care in detail for all aspects of the job. i.e. taking care of customers, taking care of the team and wearing all hats as a bartender/barback, sharing in responsibilities and pulling your weight as a solid team member.
- Great organizational skills.
- Knowledgeable of all aspects of department and daily restaurant operations, including events and operating hours.
- RESPONSIBLE BEVERAGE SERVICE IS A MUST. Not overserving, making sure you are putting all drinks made onto tabs correctly and not giving away drinks.
- Complies with basic safety and sanitation requirements.
- Basic knowledge of restaurant’s POS system (TOAST) or comparable POS system preferred.
- Assures that all state and local laws and club policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
- Accountability in maintaining inventory and processing payments
- Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Physical ability to lift 50-75lbs.
- Physical ability to stoop, crouch, lift and stand repeatedly.
LICENSES AND SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Alcohol beverage certification.
Food safety certification.
Of legal age to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages.
