Description:

As the Facilities Associate, you will have the responsibility of providing services for the company and be proactive with any maintenance needs. This includes stock replenishment of facilities, moves/changes, and reporting of any issues with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, reactive maintenance to the appropriate repair teams.

Your role has the opportunity of assisting with maintenance and services within each department in the organization. In addition, as the Facilities Associate, you will be assisting with employee engagement activities, monthly lunches, and other company events.

Location Information: On-Site at our Carpinteria, CA Headquarters

Salary Range: Starting salary is typically between $43,000 – $50,000 annually, however, it is ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidate’s relevant experience, and internal equity. Essential Job Function: This is an Essential Job Function “Essential Staff” position for the purpose of our Business Continuity Plan “BCP”. This distinction means you are expected to be fully prepared to perform essential functions of your job remotely as deemed applicable and necessary by your manager and the Company.

Responsibilities:

The general responsibilities are:

Source and procure needed building materials, parts, and equipment to provide the necessary materials onsite for repairs.

Meeting room and catering setups.

General light maintenance.

Update project spreadsheet.

Responsible for monitoring and reviewing facilities service requests.

Knowledge of the use of power tools, moving equipment, grounds equipment, trucks, trailers.

Assist with office moves/set ups, including ordering, arranging, moving, and assembling furniture.

Building emergency operations and business continuity preparations.

Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly inspection and maintenance of building and HVAC roof motors and fans and replace as needed.

Replace washers, faucets, and seals on malfunctioning plumbing equipment.

Facilities maintenance and housekeeping duties with optimum service levels.

Execute high-quality repairs and upkeep of all areas of the facility including building, grounds, systems, and storage structures / devices.

Paint interior and exterior walls as needed.

Additional Job Duties:

General working knowledge of Facilities Management Systems (FMS) to assist in maintaining control of temperature and humidity of buildings.

Assist with On-site Security responsibility. Able to be available.

Oversee weekly furniture installations, furniture storage program and moves.

Ability to understand the “Big Picture” and adjust work accordingly.

Plans work schedules.

Demonstrate flexibility in satisfying unexpected customer demands.

Escalate staff requests/concerns to manager/director as appropriate.

Assist with Fire Drills, Power Outages, Weather related hazards or alerts, Liquid spills, Pluming issues, or Incident clean up.

Serve as liaison with facility and equipment vendors to place service calls and troubleshoot issues or incidents as needed.

Ad Hoc Projects at Supervisor Discretion.

Back-up Security Dispatch calls 24/7 for Bay Alarm Dispatch. Including State Street Santa Barbara Office.

May Include Police walk arounds when dispatch.

Education:

Minimum of 1 year in a facilities or custodial position with an elevated standard of service

Project administration and interior corporate service work a plus, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ability to learn new on-line tools, systems, and skills.

Knowledge of Building Systems and Facilities Management

Excellent command of the English Language

Excellent written and verbal communication

Ability to lift 50lbs

Additional License and/or Certification Information:

Operate utility vehicles under OSHA safety guidelines.

Clean and Valid Drives License.
