Handyman Technician:
Your HANDYMAN of Santa Barbara, a family-owned local business serving the Santa Barbara area since 2006 with over 4000 satisfied customers, has an immediate full-time opening for a skilled and experienced Handyman Technician.
We're looking for a highly motivated and reliable individual with a proven track record in home repair and remodeling. If you take pride in your work, have excellent skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of home repair and remodeling tasks, demonstrating solid knowledge of various trades.
- Complete projects with minimal supervision, maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while interacting with clients.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4+ years of demonstrable experience in handyman services, home repair, and remodeling.
- Must have and maintain a complete set of tools necessary to perform all types of handyman and remodeling jobs
- Solid knowledge of all types of home repairs and remodeling.
- Proficiency in using a complete set of hand and power tools.
- Ability to perform quality work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Must live in the Santa Barbara area (no commuting).
- Clean DMV record, no criminal history, and ability to pass a drug test.
- Must have a secure, off-street parking space at their residence to protect the company van from damage, theft, and vandalism.
Core Skills:
General Carpentry:
- Framing (wall framing, door and window framing)
- Trim work (baseboards, crown molding, door casings)
- Cabinet installation
- Shelf and shelving unit construction/installation
- Door and window installation and repair
Painting:
- Interior and exterior painting techniques (cutting in, rolling, spraying)
- Surface preparation (sanding, patching, priming)
- Proper use of different types of paint and finishes
Drywall:
- Hanging and finishing drywall (taping, mudding, sanding)
- Drywall repair (patching holes, fixing cracks)
Basic Plumbing:
- Fixture replacement (faucets, toilets, showerheads)
- Basic understanding of plumbing systems
Basic Electrical:
- Replacing light fixtures, switches, and outlets
- Installing ceiling fans
- Understanding basic wiring and circuits
- Safe use of electrical testing equipment
Flooring:
- Installation of various flooring types (laminate, vinyl plank, tile)
- Subfloor preparation
- Grouting and sealing (for tile)
Tile Work:
- Tile installation (walls, floors, backsplashes)
- Cutting and shaping tiles
- Grouting and sealing
General Repairs and Maintenance:
- Fixing leaky faucets and toilets
- Repairing damaged screens and windows
- Hanging pictures and mirrors
- Assembling furniture
- Weatherproofing and sealing
- Appliance installation
What We Offer:
