The Legal and Compliance Organization is looking for an export licensing analyst to join the Global Trade team. This position is responsible for interfacing with business units that require licensing, preparing and managing license applications with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), and reporting on the status of submitted export licenses. The position will work closely with Applied’s Global Trade export license managers, the Global Trade global classification team, and Applied’s IT Team.Summary of ResponsibilitiesSupport the export license manager within the Global Trade Team. Understand controlled product demand and submit export license applications, as needed. Draft letters of explanation to support export license applications and compile necessary documentation. Work directly with operations and product experts within impacted business units. Hold regular meetings to report on license progress, open applications, and request for more information. Partner with the business to support the licensing program. The ideal candidate will gain a strong understanding of Applied Materials business and our export-controlled products.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor forecast for controlled opportunities and submit license applications as needed to support demand for export-controlled tools.
Draft all materials, including the letter of explanation and compiling all related supporting documentation in accordance with Applied’s export license process
Update and report on pending licenses to BU stakeholders
Advocate to the U.S. regulator for resolution on outstanding applications
Hold regular meetings with business unit contacts to provide insight on licensing trends or new controls
Share approved licenses with the SAP GTS team to ensure a compliant release and manage license decrements
Sending notifications to customers teams regarding license approval or export license conditions
Create license application templates with help from business teams including product specifications and foreign availability.
Track and log license applications in license trackers; update data as required; provide updates to export license managers
Respond to request for information by collaborating with license stakeholders
Update trade licensing metrics: monitor conditions and adhere to reporting requirements
