Your CareerPalo Alto Networks, the pioneer of next-generation network security, is looking for a seasoned Payroll professional to lead the Americas payroll team in a high-energy and growth environment. The successful candidate will have a breadth of experience and an in-depth understanding of domestic, multi-state and international payroll processes, stock and equity issues, and associated tax issues. This individual will be a key member of the Controller’s group and will report to the Assistant Controller Director, Payroll Operations.Your Impact

Lead Americas payroll operations (US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil & Costa Rica)

Perform autonomously, initiate and manage complex, departmental, and/or cross-company projects

Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of America's semi-monthly and monthly payrolls, commissions and ad hoc payrolls

Update, document, and improve America's payroll administration, business process flows and policies

Develop, implement and generate performance metrics for Payroll team - Establish goals and objectives and mentor towards those objectives

Collaborate with regional controllers on global payroll strategies, processes and policies

Lead or participate in projects related to the payroll function in order to bring value to the company through streamlining processes, automation, etc.

Maintain and update payroll records for compliance with labor and tax laws, and ensure accurate and timely tax filings - Review quarterly tax reports and returns

Ensure documentation and controls compliance as the payroll SOX champion

Support the internal and external audit & SOX requirements

Collaborate with HR, Tax, Treasury, Legal and Equity team on all employee compensation and funding related matters

Research and provide guidance on complex payroll and tax issues

Communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external customers

Ad hoc duties as required

Your Experience

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent or equivalent military experience is required

CPP certification

At least 10 years of payroll experience

Strong knowledge of applications, including Excel, ADP WFN & EV6, and Workday

Demonstrated exceptional leadership and team building ability, strong communication skills, and the desire to work in a fast-paced, multiple-deadline environment

Must have experience with Payroll Accounting

Must have experience in equity based compensation, including stock options, RSUs, ESPP, and SARs

International payroll experience using service providers and/or shared services is preferred

Excellent knowledge of SOX requirements, payroll processes, workflow, and practices

Motivated problem solver with a proven customer service focus

For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be between $134,700/yr to $217,900/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus.
