Marians offers Santa Maria Valley residents access to the most advanced technologies an expanded and enhanced Emergency Department Critical Care Unit neonatal intensive care unit and an array of womens services.ResponsibilitiesIn keeping with the Marian Medical Center health care philosophy, the Occupational Therapy Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant supports and promotes the provision of quality patient care under the direction of the Registered Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Actively participates as a team member in the systems, functions and activities of the unit/department. Tasks may include assisting with patient care, maintaining bookkeeping/billing information and set-up/clean-up of treatment areas to prepare for patient/group treatment. The Occupational Therapy Aide effectively communicates treatment to patients/residents, staff and family.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant program.
CA CNA license.
CPR certification required.
Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Operates IVAC thermometer, vital check machine, blood pressure cuff, standing table, paraffin wax deep heat treatment and therapeutic exercise equipment.
Knowledge of medical terminology and basic procedures.
Demonstrates Occupational Therapy skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Six (6) months recent hospital experience as Occupational Therapy Aide preferred
Education regarding Occupational Therapy techniques such as proper body positioning, retrograde massage and use of therapeutic/adaptive equipment is desired.
