Melfred Borzall is a 3rd generation manufacturing company eagerly seeking a driven candidate to join our team. From our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility on California's Central Coast, we design, produce and sell tools that are a key component to the successful installation of underground utilities.
For this full-time position, we seek a self-reliant, highly motivated individual, able to work both independently and with a team. The CNC Machinist sets up and operates CNC machine tools including lathes and machining centers. In our fast-paced environment, you must be able to multi-task and will often be operating more than one machine at a time. In addition to setups and operation, you will be responsible for deburring and inspecting your own parts.
Should you be chosen to embark on this adventure, your responsibilities can include, but are not limited to:
Reading drawings and process sheets
Setting up tooling, fixtures, and accessories needed to complete the task
Inspecting parts and adjusting machine settings to provide best part quality with the greatest efficiency
Loading and unloading raw materials and completed parts
Possibly operating more than one machine at the same time
Supporting Lean culture, 5S, and workplace organization
If that sounds like your cup of tea, then here are some of the qualities and skills we need you to have for all of us to be successful:
HS diploma or GED
One-year certificate from college or technical school
Glass half full attitude with a “get things done” mentality
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and well organized
Ability to communicate, write, and read English
Dependable – hours are Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Heavy lifting required (up to 70 lbs.)
Some other skills that would be beneficial, but not required:
Experience with Haas machining centers and lathes
Experience with Mori-Seiki CNC lathes
Manufacturing experience
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts
