We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse & cold storage team. The ideal candidate will have experience in receiving raw product, distribution and materials handling, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
Duties
Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment to load and unload materials from trucks and pallets.
Utilize RF scanners to track inventory and ensure accurate order picking.
Perform order picking tasks, including the use of pallet jacks and clamp trucks, to fulfill customer orders efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to OSHA regulations for safety.
Assist in shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against packing lists.
Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
Participate in training sessions for new equipment or procedures as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a cold storage environment is preferred, with a focus on heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, cranes, or order pickers.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required by the job duties.
Excellent attention to detail for accurate order picking and inventory management.
Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes is beneficial.
A valid forklift operator certification is required; additional certifications in heavy equipment operation are advantageous.
