DescriptionTake on a prominent leadership position in the Surgical Processing Department. The Central Sterile Supervisor requires outstanding communication and critical thinking skills. Individual in this role must possess strong clinical background to assist training of staff to perform duties as a Surgical Processing Technician to include: decontamination and/or processing of equipment and instrumentation, and distribution of supplies or equipment, as assigned within UCLA Healthcare. Trains, supervises, and assesses Surgical Processing Instrument Technicians. Ability to consistently apply standards and achieve successful outcomes related to all types of sterilization practices for multiple departments within the hospital.The position also oversees high level disinfection (HLD), sterilization, storage and transport for offsite ambulatory clinics, and other departments of the hospital, such as MPU, L&D; respiratory therapy, cardiac, and emergency room. Other major duties include, but are not limited to, customer service and departmental efficiencies. Able to maintain, prioritize, and expedite work flow. Works with Clinical Educator to conduct orientation, training programs, and staff development. This position works independently, receiving general guidance from the Central Sterile Manager.Annual Salary Range: $68,800 to $141,000Qualifications
2 years experience in Sterile Processing or Operating room required.

Certification as a Surgical Technician orCertified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) orCertified Instrument Specialist (CIS) orCertification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) orCertified Healthcare Leader in SPD (CHLSPD)

Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (C.F.E.R.)
