Description We are offering a contract for an Accounting Specialist position in Santa Rosa, California, within the Machinery Manufacturing industry. As an Accounting Specialist, your role will involve managing bookkeeping tasks, handling accounts payable, and supporting payroll activities. You will also be responsible for maintaining an orderly accounting system and providing administrative assistance as needed.Responsibilities: Administering the process of accounts payable Assisting in payroll activities Managing bookkeeping tasks efficiently Maintaining an organized accounting filing system Reconciling bank accounts and credit cards Assisting in month-end closing tasks Creating and maintaining daily banking records Handling journal entries Providing administrative support to management when required Adhering to confidentiality protocols when dealing with employee and company information. Requirements Applicant must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the machinery manufacturing industry. Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) is a requirement for this role. Candidate must have experience in managing Full Cycle Payroll. A basic understanding of bookkeeping is necessary for this position. The applicant should have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data. The candidate should have strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial colleagues. Proficiency in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required. The candidate should have a strong commitment to ethical business conduct and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
