Summary of Position
In this role, you will manage the accounting team and partner with regional managers to provide accounting leadership, support, and oversight. The position is located in San Jose, CA and with hybrid office requirements. Candidates who are not in the local area will not be considered.
As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for the following:Provide leadership to an accounting staff of 3-4 peopleContinuously look to improve and streamline accounting processes and procedures while also ensuring proper documentationTrain, coach and develop the accounting team on a range of accounting and finance functionsBuild and support the company as they continue to growReview reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and applicable schedules to ensure accurate reportingOversee the month-end close processPrepare and review monthly and quarterly financial statementsAssist with daily requests from owners, CPA’s, banks, insurance companies and lendersOversee Capex lender reserve drawsFile and pay all Personal Property taxes and Secured Property TaxesMaintain in-house property tax and insurance impound reconciliationsPost annual adjusting entries from CPA’sReview and approve Accounts Payable weekly processing
Work Environment:Hybrid (3-4 days in San Jose office)Business hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
The Ideal Candidate will have:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required5+ yrs. of accounting experience3-5 yrs. of people management/leadership experienceBackground working in a real estate business preferredExperience with property accounting software, Appfolio experience preferredWell versed in cloud-based communicationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHighly organized with strong attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects at onceThrives in a constantly changing environmentAbility to inspire and motivate people to thrive in their prospective roles
