Full Time (40 hours weekly), Exempt position

Annual Compensation: $95,000-100,000 per year

Ritter Center is currently recruiting for an Accounting Manager. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Director of Finance. This role is based in San Rafael, CA, operating out of our Administrative Offices.

Position Description:

The Accounting Manager supervises the Accounting Team of 3 with oversight from the Director of Finance. Review entries made by staff to ensure accurate coding during the month. Reviews the recording of accounts receivable payments, donations, and other cash receipts. Oversee payroll preparation, A/P & ACH payments during the month.

The month-end close includes the reconciliation of GL accounts followed by the preparation of Grant Receivable invoices and the release of deferred revenue. The Accounting Manager works closely with the Director of Finance to handle daily/monthly transactional accounting activities as well as data reporting and analysis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

-Review all grant expenditures, including Fringe Benefit allocations and Indirect allocations. Review grant invoicing and report requirements and prepare monthly invoice templates as required.

-Collects required backup documentation, including timesheets and expense receipts for grant programs.

-Coordinates with a counterpart at the County of Marin to satisfy grant reporting requirements.

-Tracks and reports on grant budgets; work with the Chief of Staff and grant writer/grants manager to prepare monthly grant financial reports

-Reviews preliminary and final payroll reports; transfers funds to cover payroll

-Prepares payroll allocation journal entries in coordination with allocations to fringe benefits.

-Manages the reconciliation of employee deductions, including HSA, FSA, and health benefits, and communicates discrepancies with the Human Resources Department and the Director of Finance.

-Reconciles monthly with the Development Department to ensure the accuracy of donations received in coordination with entries received from Donor Perfect software.

-Review A/P invoices and credit card statements to ensure that expense allocations are appropriate and approved.

-Supports Accountant, Bookkeeper/Payroll Clerk, and Accounting and Finance Assistant with tasks as needed

-Leads the month-end process preparing recurring journal entries, adjusting entries, bank reconciliation, and reconciliation of G/L accounts.

-Assists the Director of Finance with the preparation of monthly Board of Director financial reports, annual organization budgets, and grant/contract budgets.

-Serves as an on-site resource for all financial statement and federal awards audits (A-133), annual workers’ compensation audits, periodic HRSA site visits, and agency/funders audits.

-Maintains and organizes accounting files and records

-Attends staff meetings and training as scheduled or requested

-Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

-Per our Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC) requirements, employment at Ritter Center requires compliance with being able to produce a negative TB test prior to the start of employment, as well as being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (unless applying for an exemption) per the August 5th, 2021 State Public Order for Healthcare Facilities, providers and employees.

-Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of three to five years experience with full cycle accounting and cash/ bank account management experience

-Competency with ERP accounting software, preferably Sage/Intacct

-Basic knowledge of Donor Perfect (funding software), SharePoint, Microsoft Suite, Teams, Zoom, etc.

-Detail-oriented and ability to be extremely accurate in producing assigned and delegated work products

-Strong supervisory skills - ability to delegate, motivate, and supervise staff

-Strong project management abilities – skill in identifying and implementing accounting best practices in accordance with GAAP

-Well organized and holds the ability to multi-task and time management

-Works well in a team environment

-Demonstrates commitment to service orientation (clients, staff, and community)

Software experience:

-Sage/Intacct or similar ERP software

-Stampli or similar invoice management automated software

-SharePoint or similar filing systems

-Paylocity or similar payroll software

-Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and V-lookup
