Another Source’s client, University of California Office of the President (UCOP), is recruiting an Audit Quality Assurance Specialist to join their team. This role has a hybrid work schedule of three days on site in Oakland, CA (anchor days are Tues/Wed with the third day offered as a flex day).

About the department:

The Office of Ethics, Compliance, and Audit Services (ECAS) is located at the systemwide University of California Office of the President (UCOP) and is an independent Regental office that is responsible for developing and administering the University of California's (UC) compliance and audit programs. The Audit Services Office within ECAS is responsible for the systemwide internal audit program (audits, investigations and advisory services) and for the internal audit program at UCOP. The Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance and Audit Officer (SVP) is the Principal Officer of the Board of Regents of the University of California. What you will be doing:

As an Audit Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating and promoting UC internal audit function’s conformance with professional auditing standards, achievement of its performance objectives, and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the audit process. You will be responsible for conducting quality assurance reviews of systemwide internal audit activities, risk assessment, engagement planning, performance and communication of results. You'll exercise your judgment to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria, ensuring the development of robust quality assurance conclusions. Additionally, you will provide valuable advice, training, and guidance to UC internal staff on professional auditing standards and leading practices. Operating with a high level of autonomy, you will receive oversight on quality assurance assignments, with general instructions for new or complex tasks.

The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is $124,000- 137,000.

How you will be spending your time:

Manage and enhance the University's internal audit quality assurance program, including its framework, tools, metrics, and reporting.

Conduct quality reviews of internal audit processes, including detailed audit workpaper reviews for compliance with University’s Audit Manuel and Professional Standards.

Support the planning and execution of systemwide audits, including audit program development and review of audit outputs. Prepare and deliver quality assurance reports and recommendations to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

Minimum of 8 years of internal audit experience.

Advanced knowledge of the audit profession, theories and systems of internal control, and professional auditing standards.

Broad and thorough knowledge of finance, accounting, business and systems operations.

Skills to determine and apply appropriate policies and practices in the completion of internal audit quality assurance assignments.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work independently with all levels of University personnel and to facilitate agreement on quality assurance issues and corrective actions.

Preferred Qualifications:

CIA, CISA, CPA or other relevant certifications preferred.
