Job Description:
Our growing tech startup is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cost Accounting Manager to join our finance team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience working with manufacturing or hardware companies, with a particular focus on silicon or chip companies. As a Cost Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing our cost accounting processes to drive profitability and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive cost accounting policies and procedures.
Oversee and manage the analysis of manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency improvement, cost reduction, and increased profitability.
Direct the development of accurate cost estimates for new products and product changes to support pricing decisions.
Provide management-level support for budgeting and forecasting activities, including conducting variance analysis and cost trend analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and accurate monthly and quarterly reporting of inventory, costs of goods sold, and other financial data.
Direct the development and maintenance of costing models that adhere to industry best practices.
Assist in the creation of business plans, financial models, and other analyses related to new business initiatives.
Closely monitor and analyze cost drivers, trends, and performance metrics to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
Work with Operations department on inventory management and product planning.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
5+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or hardware company.
Experience with silicon or chip companies is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, SAP, Oracle, and other relevant financial software.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
