Another Source's client, Housing Trust Silicon Valley, is recruiting a Credit Analyst to join their Multifamily Lending Team in San Jose, California. This position will play a vital role in supporting the evaluating and underwriting of affordable housing loans - it is an exciting time to join the team at Housing Trust Silicon Valley!

Salary Range: $78,000 - $94,000

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Credit Analyst (CA) plays a pivotal role in facilitating the lending process for affordable housing projects, ensuring thorough analysis and accurate decision-making. The role reports to the Interim Chief Credit Officer. And encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, from gathering essential information for loan applications to supporting portfolio performance monitoring and reporting. The CA will support the organization’s operations by assisting the lending and asset management teams in performing financial analyses, third party review assessments, site visits, and various asset management tasks including but not limited to covenant compliance, financial reporting, loan modifications and loan reviews.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Loan Underwriting

Loan Monitoring and Credit Analysis

Loan Extension and Modification Process

Internal and External Reporting

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, real estate, urban planning, or economics, or at least 2 years’ experience in a related field. An additional 3 years of experience can substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

Deep and genuine commitment to the mission of Housing Trust and its borrowers.

Interest in learning about affordable housing and/or commercial real estate, and credit analysis.

Curiosity in learning to analyze financials of nonprofit and for-profit organizations and real estate operations (particularly rental housing).

Enthusiasm for learning to review due diligence items required to underwrite real estate transactions including appraisals, environmental, and construction cost review reports.

Interested in working with both private sector financial institutions and public agencies.

Interest in learning about federal, state, and local government funding sources for capital and operating needs of multi-family housing, affordable housing and/or permanent supportive housing.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, file management software (Box), and CRM software (Salesforce)

Ability to manage multiple tasks while exhibiting strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Strong analytical, time management and critical thinking skills.
