DEKA Fabrication & Design is a West Oakland architectural design/build firm specializing in custom structures such as public art and sculptural architectural features. We have an opening for a full-time bookkeeper and office assistant. We are looking for a strong team member who can proactively engage others on a social level. A strong competence and comfort with technology as almost all of our task-tracking, communications, and systems are software-based.
General Job Description/Requirements:
5+ years experience with Xero or a comparable accounting platform (i.e., Quickbooks)
3+ years experience in bookkeeping/office admin in the construction industry
Familiarity with construction management software such as ProCore
Familiarity with Asset vs Cost of Goods Sold, Sales Tax, Job Costing, and Change Orders
Business and Contactor's License Compliance
Certified Payroll and Human Resource Documentation
General Liability and Worker's Compensation Insurance
Mechanic's Liens: Preliminary Notices and Waivers
General record keeping, doc storage & filing
Example tasks:
Performing weekly transaction entry into Xero
Reconciling project accounts and exporting financial reports
Manage incoming mail and digital filing system
Coordinating with CPA on tax compliance
Coordinating with Insurance Carrier on General Liability & Workmans Compensation
