Westminster Presbyterian Church seeks a part time bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting and financial responsibilities, including payroll, expense management, and financial reporting. The position is primarily remote, requiring 10- 14 hours per week, and reports directly to the Head of Staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage expenses, record income, and collaborate with staff to maintain proper financial records.
Process payroll bi-weekly using Paychex.
Issue monthly financial statements covering both operating and dedicated accounts.
Assist with processing Legacy Fund contributions.
Manage credit card payments and pledges.
Collaborate on budget proposals with the Finance Commission and Treasurer.
Oversee the church's financial health.
Support the preparation of annual fund pledge packets.
Update pledges and donations, and send quarterly statements to donors.
Use Parishsoft accounting software.
Provide donor information to the Stewardship Commission for solicitation purposes.
Respond to member inquiries about pledges and payments.
Qualifications:
Required bookkeeping experience, knowledge of accounting and payroll systems.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; tech savvy
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated and able to work well with multiple colleagues and volunteers.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Experience handling confidential information.
