Regional Accountant (South Bay)

The Regional Accountant will be situated within an apartment community leasing office, and will provide the following accounting functions to that community and as well as nearby apartment communities.

A. Rent and Deposits

1. On or prior to the 1st of the Month, post rents and other recurring charges for the properties that you are responsible for. Prior to posting rents, review to insure that all rent increases/decreases have been reflected in tenant profile in system. Also, review to insure that move-outs have been properly reflected.

2. During the month, input move-ins and move-outs into the System

3. During the month, obtain rent checks/money orders from the Resident Manager. Scan individual checks/money orders into the system. At times, create deposit slip and take to the bank.

4. Be a resource to Property Management by providing them with Reports requested from time to time, etc.

B. Accounts Payable Functions

1. Process invoices through Pay Scan:

a. Process invoices for payment including:

1. Daily review of vendor invoices scanned into Yardi.

2. Match the vendor invoices with the Purchase Order.

3. Process the matched invoices to Corporate through Pay Scan.

4. Every day, review unmatched invoices in Pay Scan and perform appropriate follow-up (i.e. calling respective Resident Manager/Property Manager for Purchase Order, etc.)

5. Process invoices brought to you directly from the Resident Manager through Pay Scan.

6. Research various accounts payable issues as requested by Corporate and Property Management.

7. Manage and follow up on approvals of invoices as needed

Other

1. Position reports to CFO at Corporate.

2. Position requires knowledge of Yardi property management software and must be computer literate.

3. Accounting degree a plus.

4. Accounting experience in Real Estate is preferred.

5. Requires a team player with ability to interface with all levels of management and personnel.

6. Self-starter with ability to work independently.

All applicants must be able to pass a drug screen and background check including DMV and credit check.

Must have reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, insurance, and registration.
