PROGRAM
Our preschool serves children 2-5 years.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Preschool Teacher provides supervision, care, and instruction for children, prepares and organizes classroom activities, and fosters a safe, engaging learning environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and implement daily instructional activities, including written lesson plans.
Create and maintain a safe, stimulating classroom environment.
Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement a curriculum that addresses children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
Engage with parents through conferences, newsletters, and daily communication to support child development.
Participate in staff meetings, training, curriculum planning, and preschool events.
Maintain attendance, safety logs, and comply with licensing requirements (Title 22).
Support hygiene, meals, and toileting needs for children.
Provides training and direction for Preschool Instructional Assistants or other assigned staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Child development, behavior, and care methods for preschool-aged children.
Ability to:
Plan and implement engaging activities for preschool children.
Maintain a hygienic and organized learning environment.
Communicate effectively in English and Spanish (preferred).
Build cooperative relationships with students, parents, and staff.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 12 months of teaching experience in a preschool setting. Completion of 6-12 ECE units OR
Site Supervisor or Master Teacher Permit; 15 hours of training on preventive health practices including pediatric cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, pediatric first aid, and recognition, management, and prevention of childhood injuries.
ALL candidates MUST HAVE valid CPR, First Aid training issued by an American Red
Cross or an American Heart Association-approved program.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lift children or equipment up to 50 lbs.
Perform duties requiring bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Clearances & Certifications
Background check, TB clearance, and mandated reporter certification.
Valid CA Driver’s License and immunizations (measles, pertussis).
