Private Special Education School is looking for a phenomenal Head Teacher to teach all subjects to students with special needs.
Students have diagnosis of ADHD, high functioning Autism, learning disabilities, and need someone who can handle the occasional melt down. Most kids are working at grade level, but need small groups to learn.
You will have up to 10 kids in your class, which you will plan all aspects of their day, collaborate with PE, Speech, OT, and specials.
You must be great at understanding and teaching to the learner of PDA, Autism, ADHD, and come from a place of compassion, not discipline.
You must be energetic, plan exceptionally well, pivot when needed, and be a role model and someone these kids can connect too.
You must "get it" meaning you can read the child, you do not trigger the child, and you act like an adult, not getting your feelings hurt, annoyed, or impatient with a child who is learning to navigate the world.
You must have a background in both education and psychology, to fully promote the education we believe in.
Minimum 3 years teaching in a classroom, with a degree, units, or working towards a psychology and education degree.
