We’re hiring a player development coach for our softball program at Terra Nova High School in Pacifica for the Spring 2026 season. We’re looking for an ex-player who understands the game to join our staff and run practices, drills, etc with the goal of developing players’ skills throughout the spring season. This role is player-focused and this coach will not be expected to interface with parents.
Responsibilities include:
- run practices daily throughout the season (4-6pm, Jan-May)
- bring fresh concepts/drills/ideas (though we do have a solid foundation in place)
- earn player respect and act as mentor/advisor to players
- attend games as needed/as available
The right candidate will:
- be able to pass a criminal background check and complete district-required training (virtual)
- have schedule flexibility in the later afternoons/early evenings
- be able to commit to being available most/all weekdays for the duration of the season
- be a student of the game that can speak/teach from experience
- have a growth mindset and interest in adopting current coaching/mental performance best practices
Prior coaching experience not necessary, but obviously a bonus.
Candidate will need to go through the standard school district "volunteer" application process and background checks, but this position is funded via our outside fundraising efforts and will be paid monthly, based on hours worked during the month.
