I am seeking someone to work with my very sweet autistic son, age 12, from time to time.
Our current aide is out with an injury, so I could use someone as soon as this week, and possibly for the next few weeks. After that, it would be on an on-call basis when our regular aide is out sick.
This week would be Tues-Fri (or any days you are available, doesn't have to be all of those days) in the mornings. His school won't have started yet, so it would be time for you to do some outings in the community and get to know him. Start time can be negotiated.
Starting August 27, I would need someone who can be available from 8:40 am til at least 1 pm, and possibly later if it works for you.
You would attend a private school in El Cerrito. You will receive training on the job.
Ideally, I'm looking for someone creative and quick-thinking who can adapt learning tools to meet his level and style of learning, as well as help him make social connections. If you like kids and think you are good with them, that's a good starting point!
