REPORTS TO: Director of Extended Programs
JOB GOAL: help the EP team at either campus with operations for the assigned afternoon. Students learn to socialize with peers and EP teachers through organized as well as unstructured, developmentally appropriate play. EP substitutes are needed on a case-by-case basis.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Report to designated campus by the agreed upon time and stay until dismissed.
Listen to the day’s game plan, as laid out by the Director and/or the Coordinator.
Supervise and facilitate sports, cooperative games, and arts and crafts.
Maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and program to which one is assigned.
Perform all extra duties for the absent teacher.
Maintain an appropriate appearance as an example for students.
The candidate must have:
Experience with TK – 8th grade children (any combination of grades within)
Attention to the social-emotional needs of elementary and/or middle school students and a genuine liking for early adolescents
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability and willingness to work in teams
Committed to creating a fun and safe environment
Strong track record of working with parents
Sense of humor
Flexibility
Enthusiasm
Previous work experience such as early childhood education, food prep, camps, and childcare preferred.

Compensation: $25/hour
Schedule: After school hours - could range from as early as 1:30pm to as late as 6pm, but a normative daily duration is 2.5-3.5 hours. Additionally, there are evening and weekend events that could provide shift opportunities. Successful candidates are also considered for additional opportunities substituting for the school day.
