Coaches instruct children ages 18 months to 12 years with curriculum-based sports and physical education programs. We introduce a different sport each week with over 18 different sports. Our emphasis is in developing self-confidence and fitness awareness in a non-competitive environment utilizing curriculum designed by national sports associations.
Our ideal candidates will have had previous experience with preschool and elementary age children, and a background in physical education, coaching, or sports would be a great match.
We have an immediate position to fill with work starting in August. Coaches must pass a Level II background screening. We are a mobile program, therefore, it is necessary to have reliable transportation. The starting hourly rate depends on experience with children. JOB SUMMARY
Coaches lead 30 minutes to 1-hour long classes at various schools and daycares within the city of San Francisco. They implement the Kidokinetics curriculum, ensuring each child has a positive and successful Kidokinetics experience and are responsible for the well being of students while they attend Kidokinetics classes. Our coaches assume the role of leader, friend, guide, disciplinarian, and mentor. Ultimately it is the coach’s responsibility to carry out the mission of Kidokinetics: helping children enhance coordination, concentration, and fine/gross motor skills in a fun and non-competitive environment.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The coach reports directly to the Kidokinetics San Francisco Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares events, activities, lessons, games, and classes in accordance with the guidelines of Kidokinetics Inc.
Abides by the safety guidelines of Kidokinetics Inc. at all times
Conducts classes in an enthusiastic, nurturing manner
Arrives to each class prepared with the appropriate lesson plans, equipment, supplies, and other materials
Sets up a sign and/or banner for display at the location
Takes care of equipment and supplies
Monitors temperature of classrooms and facilities (if applicable) for indoor classes
Makes every effort to connect one-on-one with each child while leading classes
Addresses concerns or special needs for children and caregivers
Uses Kidolink 2.0 for all reports, attendance sheets, registration forms, etc. accurately and on time
Is a good role model for young children physically, emotionally, and socially
Works as part of a team, and is a great team player
Provides an environment of acceptance that supports and respects cultural differences
Sets clear, consistent limits, has realistic expectations, and uses positive methods of child guidance
Provides opportunities for each child to develop feelings of competence, self-esteem, and a positive attitude toward physical activity and learning
Participates in training to improve skills and professional competencies
ECE credits, or willing to earn ECE credits
Must be 18 years of age or older and a high school graduate
PAY RATE
The pay rate is $22 to $30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a first-hire position for the San Francisco location of this nation-wide franchise and there is a lot of opportunity for advancement.
