Cammisa + Wipf Consulting Engineers has been a recognized leader in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering in the Bay Area since 1958. We specialize in the design of simple to complex healthcare, research, educational, civic, and infrastructure projects for our clients.
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Electrical Engineer to join our team at our newly renovated office in San Francisco’s popular SOMA District.
Responsibilities
Understand and apply electrical engineering principals and fundamentals
Understand and apply California Electrical Code to projects
Develop written narratives as needed for reports, studies, and/or project basis of design
Perform site investigations for renovation projects to assess existing conditions
Design lighting systems including fixture selections, layouts, controls, and photometric calculations
Design building power systems including normal and emergency service and downstream distribution
Develop one line diagram with equipment and feeder sizing, and related load calculations
Perform short circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, and circuit breaker coordination studies
Interface with vendors to select and schedule electrical system equipment and fixtures
Coordinate electrical room spaces and confirm spatial layouts of major equipment
Review equipment from other consultants, schedule and identify electrical requirements
Layout power receptacles and equipment outlets, perform circuiting, and complete panel schedules
Layout low voltage system outlets for various systems (voice, data, nurse call, paging, fire alarm, etc.)
Review, coordinate and respond to agency plan review comments
Perform construction services including submittal reviews, request for information responses, and jobsite visits to review/confirm installation of electrical systems
Qualifications
Electrical related experience in consulting engineering firm (3+ years)
Proficient in Revit building information modeling (BIM) software
Proficient in AutoCAD drawing production software is a plus
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam
Work experience in healthcare, laboratory, education and infrastructure is a plus
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is preferred
