Starting salary up to $63.02/hour ($131,530/year) and a competitive total compensation package!
Permit Sonoma is the County's land use planning and development permitting agency. Virtually any land development or construction that takes place in the unincorporated area of Sonoma County (outside the city limits of the nine cities) is reviewed, permitted, and inspected by Permit Sonoma. As a Engineering Inspection Supervisor, you will perform a variety of county-wide engineering construction inspections. Your responsibilities will also include:
Scheduling inspections for the engineering team
Reviewing inspections completed by contractors and homeowners
Applying your knowledge of right-of-way, property boundaries, road design, earthwork, and grading plans
Drawing upon your understanding of sanitary sewer, stormwater, and drainage systems
Work involves both office and field settings, in various weather conditions, and requires flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work, per project demands.
What You Bring
As the next Engineering Inspection Supervisor, you bring your strong analytical and problem solving skills, good judgment and the ability to make sound decisions, effective verbal and written communication skills. You also bring:
Construction inspection experience, including experience negotiating with contractors
Knowledge of traffic control standards and utility company operations
Experience determining quantities from construction plans and/or field measurements
General of general construction practices, including ADA compliance and environmental compliance
Experience in environmental review, permitting, and compliance
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-specific software
The ability to problem-solve within contractual specifications
Additionally, training and certifications in the following are highly desired: construction safety training, Nuclear Gauge certification, Qualified Strom Water Pollution Prevention Plan Designer (QSD) certification, Qualified Strom Water Pollution Prevention Plan Practitioner (QSP) certification, Supervisory training courses, Traffic control training.
