The Chapel music venue is seeking an experienced Production Manager to join our team. The Production Manager advances and manages production details for all Chapel shows and events. This position is responsible for the successful execution of each show as per the agreed terms in the artist’s contract, ensuring that the needs of the show and performer are met.
Essential Functions:
Review contract details with talent buyer; create a budget for each show; track expenses
Liaison between venue and artist to ensure all production needs are met according to the contract terms.
Advance all shows per the contract including backline rentals and other production needs, artists hospitality riders, staging details, and capacity requirements. Provide kitchen and bar staff with advance notice of food or beverage requests.
Communicate with artist, tour crew, and artist management to ensure successful execution of each show.
Arrange for parking (including applying for any required permits), special artist requests, credentials, etc.
Solve any production issues that arise during the show timeline
Ensure the Chapel venue is staffed appropriately for each show
Monitor production labor and other costs to stay within the budget for each show
Oversee the equipment load in; manage tour bus parking and shore power. Make delivery/pickup arrangements with local vendors.
Arrange for show settlement after the show has concluded, ensuring that artists/vendors are paid per the contract. Submit completed show reports, including any requests for additional payment, to the business manager, talent buyer, and owners.
Manage production and logistics for other projects within the venue as directed. These include but are not limited to private events with entertainment, DJ events, shows on the parking lot, and shows produced by the Chapel at other locations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree preferred
A minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience in concert production and venue management
Excellent overall knowledge of the production process (advancing, loading in, sound check, managing show, loading out, show settlement)
Knowledge of the functions and operations of a concert venue
Working knowledge of technical aspects of concert production w/ ability to solve technical problems
Ability to create and maintain budgets
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, promoters, suppliers, guests
Ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work a demanding schedule that could include nights, weekends, holidays, long shifts
Excellent verbal, written and public relations skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel
Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required
