Overweight, non-diabetic men and women ages 20-65 years are being sought to participate in a nutritional research study. Eligible participants will be enrolled into two (2), ten-day feeding periods, during which all food will be provided, and two (2), two-night hospitalizations in the Clinical Research Center at Zuckerberg San Francisco General.
Requirements:
Provide multiple blood draws
Adhere to strict dietary control and eat and drink all food provided
Receive magnetic resonance scans (MRS/MRI) to measure liver fat
Receive Dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) to measure body composition
HIV negative, Hepatitis B/C negative
Women should not be pregnant or nursing
Compensation for completion of the entire study: $1,200
