Moxie Steakhouse is a local gem in the heart of Alameda, known for serving premium steaks, craft cocktails, a diverse range of wines, and genuine hospitality. We’re currently seeking an energetic, friendly, and reliable front of the house assistant who can be cross-trained as a waiter’s helper, busser, and barback.
What You’ll Do as a Waiter’s Assistant/Busser:
-Clear dirty dishes, silverware, and glassware after each course
-Assist waitstaff with refilling water and wine glasses
-Assist waitstaff in making foil swans for customer leftovers
-Quickly and efficiently reset tables after every seating
What You’ll Do as a Barback:
-Wash, polish, and store glassware and bar tools
-Greet and set up new customers with menus, waters, and silverware
-Read tickets then set up needed glassware, liquor bottles and garnishes for bartender
-Execute simple orders such as soda and pouring glasses of wine
Assist in closing duties
What We’re Looking For Overall:
-Highly motivated and quick learning individuals who want to work their way up as a server or a bartender. We prefer hiring from within the company
-Ability to seamlessly jump from service floor to bar when needed
-High stamina and positive energy
-Restaurant experience a must
-Barista experience preferred but not required
-Must be 21+ with ServSafe certification
Location: Moxie Steakhouse, 1640 Park Street, Alameda, CA
Schedule: 10-25 hours, 2-4 shifts a week | Evening and weekend availability a must
Compensation: Base pay + tips
