Muir’s Tea Room is adding to our baking staff as we expand our retail and wholesale operations and celebrate our tenth year in business.
Located in a stunning historic Queen Anne Victorian with a lush cottage garden on Main Street in Sebastopol, Muir’s beautiful venue offers an elaborate English/Scottish inspired High Tea and Bakery. Our wholesale division supplies Northern California grocery stores, coffee shops and restaurants with our baked goods.
Our wonderful baking team genuinely enjoy working together to create our distinctive artisan cookies, cakes, cupcakes, pies, pastries, scones, specialty breads, savories and chocolates with an emphasis on quality, consistency and presentation. We predominantly use organic ingredients and in addition to being certified vegan, we offer many gluten free items.
Work schedule and hours are extremely flexible on Mondays through Fridays.
Essentials for this position :
A passion for baking!
Keen attention to quality, consistency and detail.
Ability to thrive and meet production schedules for our wholesale baking and also shifting to incorporate creativity with attention to detail for our whimsical pastry case items.
Commercial baking experience is preferred including working with pastry dough, chocolate and successful application of recipes for a wide variety of pastries.
Production experience with wholesale bakery manufacturing would be beneficial.
Production experience with chocolate is a plus.
Ability to follow recipes and ensure consistency.
Cleanliness, organization is a must- we clean as we go.
Able to lift 25 pound bags of ingredients, full baking trays and manage large amounts of ingredients and batches.
Knowledge of working with commercial mixers, baking ovens and specialty appliances.
Enjoy working with a supportive and harmonious team where a sense of humor is valued.
Compensation is based on experience and bonuses are given frequently during busy months.
