Distillery Tasting Room and Events Lead Job Summary:

The Tasting Room and Events lead will help operate and grow our tour & tasting room and private events programs. They will also conduct off-site demos at accounts and events throughout the Bay Area. This is a part time position that has the potential to become full time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

-Work with the distillery manager to create and maintain a welcoming, fun and compelling spirits tasting experience in our tasting room.

-Pour and guide tasting flights and share our story with customers.

-Make craft cocktails at our tasting bar: We have an established, limited cocktail menu that we will train you on. You will have the opportunity to add your own creative spin.

-Conduct tours of the production process. (You will learn the basics of our process once on the job.)

-Light snack and pairings preparation.

Sell Spirits Club memberships (with bonuses.)

-Keep the tasting room clean and organized.

-Work with the distillery manager to promote and advertise our Tours, Tastings and Private Events program online, locally and via our email list.

-Manage online pickup and shipping orders.

-Occasional assistance with distillery production—bottling, barreling, fermentation, distilling, cleaning.

Additional Responsibilities of the Tasting Room and Events Lead:

-Conduct demos at accounts around the Bay Area. These demos include consumer tastings as well as staff trainings at bottle shops, restaurants and bars.

-Demos at whiskey and rum festivals.

Spirits tastings at community and non-profit sponsorship events.

-Opportunity to learn the basics of distillery production and be involved in grain-to-glass whiskey production.

This is a part time position that requires approximately 18-24 hours per week. Shifts are 5-8 hours.

Qualifications and Skills:

The ideal candidate should have a friendly and engaging personality, maintain consistent professionalism and have an aptitude to learn, understand and follow quality and safety standards of the distillery. The candidate must also be willing to help regularly clean and maintain the facilities, be a team player, come to work on time and be ready to work in a fast paced environment.

Once on the job, the Tasting Room and Events Lead will become familiar with our products, ingredients and processes in order to give consumers an insightful and engaging tasting experience.

Qualifications:

High school or equivalent required.

BA or Associates Degree preferred.

Experience in sales, service or spirits industry: 2 years (Preferred)

Distillery, brewery or winery experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Physical Requirements:

Frequent bending/stooping/kneeling

Climbing ladders and stairs

Occasional heavy lifting (50+ Lbs)

Frequent reaching, pulling, pushing

Prolonged periods of standing and walking

Other Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age or older

Must pass background check

Ability to work weekends and evenings. Schedule flexibility is a plus.

Have a car and a good driving record (mileage reimbursement paid.)
