Event Lead Cook Description:

The Event Lead Cook is the primary responsible individual preparing/finishing food at catered events, bearing primary responsibility for taste, presentation and food safety. This is an on-call position.

You will work collaboratively with the Event Lead (and their team) who executes Front of House service, and for large events will often have a support staff of Line Event Cooks aiding you in the field kitchen.

The ideal candidate will drive the food and supplies to events in company vehicles. Grace, professionalism, poise, artistry, time, and spatial awareness are key traits for your success.

Core duties and responsibilities include:

- Collaborate with Front of House Event Lead (and company leadership) to ensure smooth event experience for guests and staff.

- Unless otherwise assigned or scheduled, you are the first and last person in the field kitchen at those events, and are responsible for set-up and take-down of equipment

- Familiarity with the event’s menu (food and drink), presentation and service

- Field training of any staff who aren’t familiar with the food (or style of what’s) being served

- Direct supervision and leadership of your Back of House staff, which includes scheduling breaks/meals, ensuring adherence to event timeline, and ensuring their dress/attire (uniform appearance)

- Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and any applicable laws

- Day-of employee training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising day of event performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Event Cook Description:

Event Cooks support the Lead Cook (sometimes the Executive Chef) in preparing/finishing food at catered events. Event Cooks should take pride in their work and their professionalism, focusing on taste, presentation and overall food safety. This is an on-call position.

The ideal candidate is available as a resource to drive the food and supplies to events in company vehicles. Grace, professionalism, poise, artistry, time, and spatial awareness are key traits for your success.

Core duties and responsibilities include:

- Take direction from Lead Event Cook to collaborate on successful execution of the party’s menu

- Work collaboratively and respectfully with Front of House events staff (and company leadership) to ensure smooth event experience for guests and staff

- Support Event Lead Cook in setting up and taking down field kitchen, as assigned

- Familiarity with the event’s menu (food and drink), presentation and service
