Goodness Gracious Catering and Songbird Parlour is looking for an experienced and driven Lead Prep Chef to join our team. Women-owned and operated, globally-inspired, and locally-sourced, our company focuses on preparing and executing unique Wine Country experiences including small private dinners, more elaborate mid-sized weddings, winery parties, and yoga brunches. We have also just recently actualized our beautifully designed event space, Songbird Parlour, equipped with an exhibition kitchen, where we throw a myriad of events as well. Our culinary philosophy is intrinsically entwined with the terroir of the region, in which we strive to spotlight some of Sonoma County's most delicious produce and wines from the hardest working family-owned farms and wineries.

The Perfect Candidate

- Has at least 3 years of experience or equivalent working in a fine dining prep chef position, ideally in an independent role

- Ability to both take and give direction as needed

- Demonstrated ability to work as a team player that can multitask and work efficiently in high volume or high-pressure situations.

- Extreme attention to detail and accuracy.

- Must be highly organized, productive, and be able to work with limited supervision.

- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

- Commitment to excellence and high standards.

- Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity, and a positive outlook.

- A team player with good communication skills

Responsibilities

- Following the prep list created by Executive Chef

- Labeling and stocking all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible

- Undertaking basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.

- Ensuring all food and other items are stored properly

- Assisting Event Chefs with packing and unpacking their mise en place

- Communicating inventory needs and organizing ordering lists

- Occasionally picks up off-site catered event shifts to support culinary team
