Vita Kitchen is a healthy meal delivery service based in downtown Oakland and serving the Bay Area.
Our menu selections change weekly and seasonally based on what our farm partners are harvesting, and incorporate a variety of different cuisines. We are passionate about making things from scratch including all of our own broths and sauces as well as our own fermentation projects. We are a team of chefs constantly seeking new information and knowledge as it relates to food and cooking.
Environmental sustainability is a large part of our company ethos. We package all of our meals family-style in reusable glass containers. We also source our produce directly from local farms (our main vendors are Riverdog & Full Belly).
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a strong cook to join our team. Must have at least at least 3+ years of working in a fast-paced professional kitchen environment. Prior catering and/or personal chef experience is a plus.
Expectations for the role:
Help to prepare seasonal, health-conscious meals for clients each week, following Vita Kitchen recipes and guidelines
Can accurately scale and follow recipes.
Help to package our prepared meals, following food container guidelines and procedures.
Stays organized and on task, keeping a clean and organized work station throughout the day.
Has knowledge of health and food safety protocols.
Shows up to work with a positive attitude, ready to learn and works as a team player.
SCHEDULE
Full-Time, 40hrs a week
Monday - Friday
Mondays & Thursdays the schedule is 8am-4:30pm
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays the schedule is 9am-5:30pm
COMPENSATION
$29.50/hour pay rate
