Prep Cook At Organic Meal Delivery

The Cupboard is an organic meal delivery and private chef service catering to families in the Bay Area. The Cupboard, a women lead company, is looking for a talented prep cook to join our team! As a small team, each and every role is integral to our success, this role being no different.
This position is on our commissary kitchen team located in the Dogpatch, Mondays and Tuesdays (with potential to grow). This is a great opportunity for those looking for a second job and those looking to get away from the typical hours in the restaurant industry.
Must have at least 3+ years of working in a fast-paced professional kitchen environment. Experience with catering and large production quantities is a plus.
This role is a good fit if you are interested in working in a different environment from restaurants; are interested in supporting families through good-for-you food; are passionate about sustainability and local farms; get excited by work that entails a lot of details and variables.
The role includes 2-3 days in-person in our commissary kitchen. Starting hours will be 15-20 per week and are expected to grow over time.
Monday 6am-2pm
Tuesday 6am-2pm
With opportunities to grow, likely Sundays and then other days for the right candidate.
Role entails:
- Being a part of a team that cooks for 50 families per week, a rotating menu that is somewhat customized for clients with allergies, and that is ingredient-quality-seasonally driven
- Maintaining high quality and premium service for our client including beautiful presentation of the final dishes
- Working with alternative ingredients that are sugar free, gluten free, dairy free, refined-ingredient free
- Working in a highly detailed environment
- Being supported by and supporting other staff members as needed
- Working closely with the head chefs and other team members
You:
- 3+ years professional kitchen experience
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail is imperative for success
- Take initiative to offer solutions
- Have foundational understanding of a wide range of cuisines (Asian, Southeast Asian, Latin, Californian)
- Consider yourself efficient and a quick learner
- Are comfortable reading spreadsheets
